SHERMAN, TX -- Every year the Salvation Army offers holiday shoppers the chance to adopt a child through their Angel Tree program, but this year the Salvation Army says Grayson County has gotten off to a slow start.
They have more than 1,700 Angels available for adoption in Grayson County alone and less people donating or adopting than years past.
With several locations throughout the area, they're asking for more people to show their support and adopt one of these children in need.
"People are not able to come out and adopt or have not come out to adopt the angels as rapidly as they have in the past, so we really need help with people helping us help the children of Grayson County," says Salvation Army officer Tammie Grigsbay.
The Salvation Army says the gifts don't have to be big, just something to give to a little boy or girl this Christmas.
Here is a list of all the locations in Grayson County where you can adopt an Angel:
Midway Mall
Denison Wal-Mart
Catherine's Plus Size Shop
Harley Davidson Shop
Big Apple Hair Salon
Classic Tan
Cracker Barrell
Ci-Cost Credit Union
American Bank in Whitesboro
JC Penney On-Line
