Sherman City Hall briefly evacuated Thurs. morning
SHERMAN, TX -- Fire crews ordered an evacuation at City Hall in Sherman this morning when smoke filled the building's ventilation system.

SHERMAN, TX -- Fire crews ordered an evacuation at City Hall in Sherman this morning when smoke filled the building's ventilation system.
Sherman Fire officials say the building at 220 West Mulberry has a new heater, and excess oil around that heater created a lot of smoke when the heater got too hot this morning.
Crews were able to evacuate the building quickly around 11 a.m., and firefighters were able to clear out all the smoke with fans.
Firefighters say that heater is off now, and that they'll come back this afternoon to check out the scene again.
No one was injured, and city employees are now back inside at work.
Firefighters say this morning's frigid temperatures contributed to the incident.
