Closing Arguments: "Nichols Heavily Involved in Bombing"

05-24-04 - (McAlester, Oklahoma-AP) -- Prosecutors are telling an Oklahoma jury that Terry Nichols did more to carry out the Oklahoma City
bombing than even Timothy McVeigh did.
Closing arguments are under way in Nichols' state murder trial
-- which could bring the death penalty. He's already serving a life
prison term on federal charges. A prosecutor told jurors today that Nichols "was in this from the get-go." And he said there's an "avalanche" of evidence to prove it.
He said Nichols had bought four-thousand pounds of the
fertilizer that was the largest component of the bomb used to blow
up the federal building. Lawyers for Nichols had tried to show that others were involved in the plot.
