Escapee Alert - Two Texoma Inmates on Loose

5-27-04 - Local authorities are on the lookout for two inmates who walked away from a prison work detail around 1pm in Hugo.

Leonard Chapman, 33, and Anthony Morrison, 38, were mowing grass near the Hugo county barn when they managed to slip out of sight of guards. The men were on a work detail from the McCloud Correctional Center in Atoka when they escaped.

Chapman is serving a 15-year sentence for drugs, but has a history of assault. Morrison is serving a 6-year sentence for burglary. Both men are considered armed and dangerous and are suspected of stealing a 1998 Jeep Cherokee, that's either silver or gold in color.

This is the third McCloud escape this month. James Trammell escaped on May 17th.
