Paris woman, 71, dies after auto/pedestrian accident
PARIS, TX -- An elderly woman has died after being pinned against a vehicle Monday in a Paris parking lot. Authorities say 71-year-old Bobbie Johnson of Paris was hit by a pickup driven by 19-year-old Jessica Rangel.

PARIS, TX -- An elderly woman has died after being pinned against a vehicle Monday in a Paris parking lot.
Authorities say 71-year-old Bobbie Johnson of Paris was hit by a pickup driven by 19-year-old Jessica Rangel. It happened in the parking lot of the Dollar General on Bonham Street.
Johnson was reportedly coherent after the accident and taken to Paris Regional Hospital. Police say Rangel apparently thought she was hitting the brake when she hit the accelerator.
Rangel was unable to provide a drivers license at the time of the accident and was cited for that offense.
So far no other charges have been filed. Police say they are still investigating the incident.
