Father's Day business doing well

ARDMORE - Father's Day is one of the biggest holidays of the year, but traditionally, it's not as big as Mother's Day. This year is different for at least one Texoma business.

This year, blame it on the rain.

Two Frogs is one of the most popular places to eat in Ardmore. Owner Aubrey Harris said he usually doesn't see more than the normal after-church crowd on Father's Day.

"Sales are thirty percent less during fathers day than Mother's Day, " he said. "It just seems like everyone wants to get Mom out of the house. It's kind of like that thing on football when they wave...when it comes to taking them out to eat, Mom trumps Dad, but Dads are good too."

Thanks to the day's showers, instead of going out to grill, people stayed inside.

"I think it's all about the rain today," one customer said. "I think the charbroilers are iced over with some water."

Another man celebrating said he wouldn't fire up his grill on Father's Day.

"Not for Fathers Day," he said. "Maybe another day."

Harris says today's unpredicted forecast brought more profits than he had anticipated.
