String of auto thefts in Durant leaves car torched on Bryan Co. Fairgrounds
DURANT, OK - A string of auto thefts in Durant over the holiday weekend leaves one of the stolen cars burned on the county fairgrounds.

DURANT, OK - A string of auto thefts in Durant over the holiday weekend leaves one of the stolen cars burned on the county fairgrounds.
Durant Police say between Thursday and Saturday three vehicles were reported stolen. The first two, a 1994 Honda Civic and a 2006 Nissan Altima, were stolen from the same business on South Ninth on Friday and Saturday.
Police suspect a current or former employee in both those crimes.
Shortly after the Altima was reported stolen, police got the call of a badly burned vehicle on the Bryan County Fairgrounds. That vehicle turned out to be the stolen Honda.
Police also discovered that a county pickup was taken from the Bryan County Commissioners Storage Area, but that truck was found a short time later.
Police believe whoever stole the cars used the county truck to get back to the Altima after setting fire to the Honda.
Police say they are still investigating.
