Former Cop Accused in Child Porn Case

6-3-04 - A former Calera police officer was arraigned in Bryan County Thursday on five charges of possession of child pornography. Durant police raided the Calera home of Richard Dillingham, 26, last week. They claim they found hundreds of images of child pornography stored on his computer.

But the investigation actually began the week before, after an employee at Big Lots Distribution Center in Durant told police he found child porn on a computer jump drive that Dillingham had access to. He worked there as a security guard.

Dillingham left the Calera Police Department in April, but has remained as a reserve officer.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is examing both the computers, in case the porn images were traded on-line. That could lead to further charges.

Dillingham is being held at an undisclosed location because of his law enforcement ties.
