Sherman Man Murdered, Suspect Sought

6-6-04- A Sherman man was shot to death early Sunday morning at a home off of Old Luella Road east of Sherman. Witnesses say the man was shot several times. Grayson County Sheriff's investigators are still searching for the suspect.

The murder occured around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. A call came into the Sherman Police Department as a medical emergency, but when paramedics arrived, they discovered that a man had been shot and notified the Sheriff's Office.

The suspect, 21 year old Cory Donn Kellison, fled on foot before units arrived and is believed to still be armed with a large calibre handgun. Investigators searched into the early morning hours, but Kellison remains on the run and is considered armed and dangerous.

According to witnesses, the victim, Guadencia Diaz, Jr., of Sherman, was at the home with some others when the suspect arrived and reportedly went into the home and came out with a large calibre handgun and shot the victim several times while he sat in the vehicle.

So far, authorities have not released any information about a motive and are in the process of obtaining murder warrants.
