Another fire destroys Sherman home
SHERMAN, TX - Sherman firefighters arrived on scene at a house fire Thursday morning just before six o'clock on West Andrews Street. Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says when they arrived the fire was fully involved.

SHERMAN, TX - Sherman firefighters arrived on scene at a house fire Thursday morning just before six o'clock on West Andrews Street. Sherman Fire Chief Jeff Jones says when they arrived the fire was fully involved.

The homeowner says he woke up to smoke believes it was started by one of the two kerosene heaters he uses to heat his home. The man suffered minor injuries to his hands, but was able to escape.

There were no other occupants or injuries.

Jones says the didn't have a working smoke detector or carbon monoxide detector. The home is a total loss and the American Red Cross is assisting the owner.

There was minor fire damage to the property just north of the original fire.
