OKLAHOMA CITY - A Hugo man was honored today at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City for his service to the community as a mentor.

Henry Wallace lost his mother 30 years ago this month, a victim of domestic violence. When Wallace learned two young boys in Hugo suffered the same loss, he reached out to them by becoming their mentor.

Wallace, who has been matched with the boys for over a year, has been named the 2010 David and Molly Boren Mentoring Award winner.

Wallace and the boys are also being featured this month in a television commercial airing across Oklahoma.
