Deadly Accident; Slick Roads to Blame

06-10-04 - A combination of slick roads and high speeds killed one person and injured two others in Whitewright Thursday morning. Police say a 75 year old man was driving too fast on state highway 11 at 6:00am when his pickup hydroplaned and hit a semi truck, waiting to turn onto the road.

The 56 year old passenger in the pickup died of massive head injuries, she was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The semi truck driver suffered minor injuries.
