More than a dozen Sherman employees among Sam's Club layoffs

SHERMAN, TX - Sources tell KXII that more than a dozen people in Sherman have been laid off from the local Sam's Club.

More than 10,000 employees in all are being laid off from Sam's Club stores across the country.

According to the company's website, Sam's Club is letting go employees who hand out samples as part of the company's demo program, opting instead to contract the in-store demos to an outside company.

In the statement Sam's Club says it is working hard to find other positions for employees who are losing their jobs.

The majority of jobs eliminated were part-time positions.
