Antique Air Show Flying to Gainesville

6-11-04 - Aviation history is taking flight in the skies over Texoma this weekend. Hundreds of antique airplanes are descending on Gainesville for 42nd annual antique air show.

Some of the planes date back to the early days of flight. The oldest at the show is the Velie Monocoupe, which was built in 1928. Another pilot from Houston flew in Friday in a WWII primary trainer, which he bought from a friend of his father.

In all, 200 planes will be at the Gainesville Municipal Airport, which lasts through Sunday morning.
