Three Injured in Car Vs. Train Accident

6-13-04- Three men were injured Saturday night when their car crashed into the side of an Amtrak train in Gainesville.

Police say the three unidentified men were hurt when they tried to drive around the railroad crossing gates and struck the side of the Heartland Flyer train last night.

One of the men was treated and released and a second is still
hospitalized in Gainesville.

A third man was transported by medical helicopter to a hospital
in Dallas in critical condition.

The train was en route to Oklahoma City when the crash occurred,
damaging the engine's air system.
