Car Bombings Kill Several In Baghdad

06-14-04 - (Baghdad, Iraq-AP) The US military says car bombing in Baghdad killed an American, two British citizens, a French citizen and another foreigner Monday. Iraqi police say a second car bomb went off southeast of town, killing four people.

The blast tore through a convoy on a busy Baghdad street, destroying eight vehicles and turning some nearby shops and a two story home to rubble. French officials say US authorities told them a French citizen was killed. British officials say two British citizens are dead, and added there could be more British casualties.

Iraqi police say a second car bomb went off near a town southeast of Baghdad. They say a car drove between some police vehicles and blew up, killing four people and injuring several others.
