Fire Claims Building Days After Church Moves

6-17-04 - A Sherman is thankful after a fire destroyed their building, but just a few days after they moved out. An electrical short triggered the fire around 3am inside the single-story structure on Brockett Street in Sherman, causing $25,000 in damage.

But just three days before, the Good Samaritan Church of God in Christ had moved into a new location on Travis Street. Church pastor RL Terry is thankful, especially considering the church’s wooden pews would have likely caused the entire Brockett building to burn down.
