6-18-04 - Sherman police are investigating two attempts to pass counterfeit cash on Thursday. Police say the $20 bill looked authentic to the untrained eye.

The first attempt was at the KFC on Travis Street around 2:30pm. Police say two white men tried to use the bogus $20, but when employees became suspicious, the men drove away in a gold Saturn. But just 15 minutes later, two similar men were successful in passing the bill at a Dairy Queen on Lamar. Police have at least one possible suspect.
