Gun found in Durant High School student's purse
DURANT, OK - A Durant High School student found a gun in another student's purse Wednesday.

DURANT, OK - A Durant High School student found a gun in another student's purse Wednesday.
Durant Independent School District Superintendent Dr. Jason Simeroth says a student looked inside a purse left behind in a classroom to find out who it belonged to.
Inside that purse the student saw a handgun. That student immediately gave the purse to a teacher, who then gave it to administration. They were able to determine what student the purse containing the firearm belonged to.
Simeroth says that student will be suspended from school for a calendar year, per district policy.
No one was injured.
