MethBusters Joins War on Drugs

6-28-04 - Local and federal law enforcement officers hope to win the war on methamphetamines by attacking all facets of the drug trade, and educating the public. The program is called Methbusters, and was launched Monday.

Local, federal and state authorities are taking part in the program. Their tactics for change will affect everything involved in the meth cooking process; from manufacturers to the distributors of the ingredients. Drug agents will also keep a strict watch on wholesale distributors of pseudoephedrine – a key ingredient in making meth.

They also promise tougher prosecution for anyone caught participating in the meth trade.

Methbusters is starting up an education program that will focus on the indicators used to determine if someone is using the drug and the dangers the drug causes to the community.
