DENISON, TX-- Denison Little Leaguers enjoyed a sunny day for try-outs but now they need your help to repair some damaged nets left behind from the snowy winter.

The playing fields are in great shape but winter weather destroyed the batting cages and protective netting that used to hang between the two fields.

The league is hoping sponsorship from local businesses will help earn nearly six-thousand dollars so fans can come out and enjoy the games safely.

Reece Patterson, President of the Denison Little League, said, "The biggest risk right now is to our spectators. Playing two fields at one time, if we have foul balls, one could potentially, if someone is watching on one field and the ball comes from another field, could strike a spectator, which almost happened last weekend at tryouts."

Sponsors can donate as little as fifty-dollars and have their business advertised on a banner at games throughout the season.
