GAINESVILLE, TX - Gainesville police arrest the suspect in a series of burglaries of local businesses over the past several weeks.

Investigators say 29 year old Japin Mandel Scales was caught breaking into another business last Saturday just before 4 a.m.

An officer found Scales attempting burglarize Matthews Photography at 300 Lindsay Street. Scales tried to flee once he saw the officers, but was caught and taken to the Cooke County Jail.

Gainesville police will continue an investigation to determine if Scales was involved in other offenses as well.

Two churches were also broken into over the weekend in Gainesville. Only one had a 42-inch TV stolen.
