Howe man sentenced for possessing pipe bomb
SHERMAN, TX - A Howe man is sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for making and possessing a pipe bomb. James Elby Rogers, 48, was arrested at his mother's home just outside Howe last March.

SHERMAN, TX - A Howe man is sentenced to more than seven years in federal prison for making and possessing a pipe bomb.
James Elby Rogers, 48, was arrested at his mother's home just outside Howe last March. Grayson County Sheriff's investigators say his mother told them she found a suspicious device in Rogers' shirt pocket while cleaning house.
Deputies recognized it as a pipe bomb, and contacted the Denton County Bomb Squad who safely removed and detonated the device.
Rogers was sentenced last year for prior charges He pleaded guilty in November to possession of a pipe bomb.
Yesterday a federal judge sentenced Rogers to 87 months in federal prison.
