ADA, OK -- An expectant mother and her unborn child were killed Monday after an accident on State Highway 1. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says It happened just before 2 p.m. about a mile east of town.

A report from OHP states 30 year old Erin Taylor of Wanette, Oklahoma was northbound on a county road when she failed to yield to a stop sign at the intersection with Highway 1. That's when troopers say her vehicle collided with a westbound Peterbuilt semi truck. Taylor was taken to Valley View Hospital where she died. The medical team at Valley View performed an emergency delivery of her baby, but the child also died from injuries.

The semi's driver wasn't hurt in the collision.
