Man briefly escapes police custody after Durant drug arrest
DURANT, OK - A man caught with drugs Tuesday night in Durant is arrested and then briefly escapes police custody.

DURANT, OK - A man caught with drugs Tuesday night in Durant is arrested and then briefly escapes police custody.
Durant Police say they arrested 25-year-old William Sherer at a motel in the 900 block of West Main around midnight when officers found crystal meth and paraphernalia on Sherer
But as police were checking on another subject at the motel, a handcuffed Sherer was able to get the window of the cruiser down and escape.
Police found him twenty minutes later a few blocks away hiding in the bed of a pickup.
Sherer was booked into the Bryan County Jail charged with possession, public intoxication, and escaping arrest.
