Fire Ruled Arson at Cartwright Restaurant

7-14-04 - The Oklahoma State Fire Marshal has ruled the second of two fires at a local steakhouse as arson. Naifeh's Steakhouse in Cartwright suffered two fires in just nine days in late June, the last of which happened while the owner and another employee were inside the building.

Wednesday, the state released their initial report, which points to arson as the cause. That fire started in the exact same are of the kitchen that the first fire did. The cause of the initial fire is still under investigation and so far there have been no arrests.

The damage from both fires has been repaired enough for the restaurant to open.

Today, owner Dennis Naifeh says he's shocked by the finding and believes a leaking gas line caused both fires.
