OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The state Health Department is investigating an incident that sent 14 Falls Creek church campers to the hospital with diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
Thirteen members of a church youth group and their sponsor were
hospitalized Saturday after spending time at the Falls Creek Baptist Center in south central Oklahoma near Davis.
Bacteria in a single cabin is considered to be the culprit.
A spokesman for the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma
termed the illnesses at Falls Creek an isolated incident confined
to a single cabin and a single church group.
The state Health Department has begun interviewing church youth
group teenagers and adult sponsors about what they ate and specific
group activities at Falls Creek.
