7-22-04 - An alleged conman arrested in Davis is now suspected of conning an Ardmore hotel. An employee of the Holiday Inn saw Steve Eugene Tucker’s photo on First News Tuesday night, after he was arrested on several forgery and fraud warrants out of central Oklahoma.

At the time, Murray County authorities were investigating Tucker amid claims that he posed as a preacher and was baptizing people in an Arbuckle hotel hot tub.

But before that, Ardmore police say he spent two weeks at the Holiday Inn, posing as a Michelin employee. The hotel manager says his bluff slipped past their system because an employee didn’t follow procedure. By the time he skipped town, he left an two week unpaid bill and stole a TV and other items from his room.

Authorities found computer and camera equipment in his Davis hotel room. They suspect he plays his con game across the country. The FBI is also involved in the investigation.
