7-25-04- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is searching for a man who led troopers on a high speed chase through two southern Oklahoma counties. They say they man tried to back into an OHP patrol car, then fled on foot into a wooded area just south of Tishomingo.

It all started around 3 p.m. Sunday when a trooper tried to pull the man over for speeding and he took off. 23 year old Joey Bray of Lawton led troopers on a high speed chase that reached speeds of 90 miles per hour. The chase lasted about two miles, before troopers threw down spikes across U.S. Highway 377, just south of Tishomingo, near the Marshall County, Johnston County line.

At that point, troopers say Bray threw the car in reverse and almost backed into an OHP patrol car with a trooper inside. The female passenger put the car in park and Bray took off on foot into a wooded area.

Dozens of OHP troopers, Tishomingo police, and Johnston County Sheriff's Deputies searched by air and on foot for Bray, but did not locate him. The search was called off just after dark on Sunday.
