Upsets Mark Primary Races

7-27-04 - Several upsets marked the Oklahoma primary races Tuesday night, with three local sheriffs losing on election night. Meanwhile, term limits opened several state representative seats to new candidates.

Sheriffs in Pontotoc, Pushmataha and Murray Counties were upset by challengers, including longtime Murray County Sheriff Marvin McCracken, who lost to challenger Darin Rogers. Pontotoc Sheriff Jeff Glase lost to Pete Peterson, while Elven Flood faced four challengers, losing to Jim Duncan.
