8-3-04 - The air around Lake Texoma may not be as clear as you think. A study by the American Lung Association gave the air quality in Marshall County a "D" grade for ozone pollutants. That’s worse than some readings in Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

But the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality says it's not local cars or factories causing the problem - it's actually coming across the border from Dallas. As the days get hotter, the pollution moves from the DFW metroplex to the Oklahoma border.

The same study also monitored air in Jefferson County. They received an "F" for air quality. Because of these new findings, DEQ says their federal counterpart – the EPA, is working with Dallas and Fort Worth to help bring down their pollutants.
