Woman Stabbed Nine Times, Suspects Sought

8-7-04- Watchful neighbors probably saved the life of a woman stabbed nine times and nearly run over by her attackers. Witnesses in a Grayson County neighborhood say a man pulled the woman out of the car, stabbed her, then tried to run her over with his vehicle.

It happened early Saturday morning on Tjheresa Drive near Highway 691. Authorities say they are looking for three suspects, two men and a woman. They believe all of the suspects are from the Dallas area.

A neighbor saw the incident and called police. The suspects left the woman on the side of the street and when authorities arrived, she was seriously injured from the stab wounds.

Neighbors say they never thought their neighborhood crime watch group would have to save a life, but authorities say the woman is alive solely because of the vigilance of folks watching their neighborhood..

The three suspects headed south on Highway 75, but all three have been identified. Investigators are not releasing the names of the suspects or the victim. She is recovering from stab wounds at Texoma Medical Center.

The incident is being investigated as an attempted murder.
