SHERMAN, TX - The first signage displaying the new name of Wilson N. Jones, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital WNJ, was raised for the first time Tuesday.
Hospital staff, volunteers, and board members attended a flag raising ceremony Tuesday morning. Last Friday, Texas Health Resources announced the acquisition of WNJ as part of a joint venture board members say has paid off W-N-J's debt and will allow the hospital to expand their current services to patients.
The main goal of the flag ceremony was to share the new partnership's goals.
"I think it's an opportunity for our organization, Texas Health Resources, to work together with Wilson N. Jones and Legacy Hospital Partners to create something great out of something that's already good," THR senior executive vice president Steve Hanson said.
Board members say Legacy Hospital Partners, out of Plano, will handle the day-to-day operations at the hospital.
