ADA, OKLA – THOR Global Defense Group, which is based out of Van Buren, Arkansas, donated ten THOR TR-15 Rifles to the Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) in Ada, Oklahoma. THOR Global Defense Group was founded in 2003 by President & CEO Larry Knesek and provides a variety of security-related services, which includes a manufacturing division.

CLEET’s armory has a limited variety of weapons, and CLEET hopes to offer an Advanced Rifle course to Oklahoma’s peace officers as a result of obtaining the donation. The TR-15 rifle is designed primarily for law enforcement and military applications; it can be carried comfortably, but provides the power, accuracy and range of a 5.56 mm rifle.

Dr. Larry Birney, CLEET’s executive director, was one of the CLEET staff members on hand for the donation. Birney stated, “It is through THOR’s generosity that our organization will be able to continue to provide the best law enforcement training possible.” Birney also noted that CLEET will be starting a new active shooter training program and that these firearms will be a valuable in providing that training.

THOR CEO Larry Knesek stated, “We’ve enjoyed the opportunity to assist CLEET in training the next generation of Law Enforcement officers and hope that the rifles supplied will do much to enhance the current training program and assist in development of new avenues of tactical training throughout the state.” THOR is the first security company to develop its own line of rifles and works hand in hand with a number of local law enforcement agencies to develop and enhance training programs. The THOR TR-15 is a fully mil-spec AR-15 style rifle, used worldwide by military and law enforcement personnel.
