TX Appeals Court rules in favor of mentally-challenged Paris teen
TEXARKANA, TX - A Texas Appeals Court has overturned the conviction and one-hundred year prison sentence of a mentally retarded Paris teen for allegedly sexually abusing a young boy.

TEXARKANA, TX -A Texas Appeals Court has overturned the conviction and one-hundred year prison sentence of a mentally retarded Paris teen for allegedly sexually abusing a young boy.
Online court records show the 6th Court of Appeals in Texarkana ruled Friday in favor of the appeal and ordered a new trial for 19-year-old Aaron Hart.
Hart pleaded guilty back in February to sexually abusing a six-year-old boy in Paris, and was sentenced to a total of one hundred years in prison in Lamar County court.
Many in opposition of Hart's conviction and sentence were critical of the court's decision on Hart, who has an IQ of 47 and the mental capacity of a six-year-old.
Hart remains in jail. A new court date has not yet been set.
