8-16-04 - Changes at Sherman High School made for a tedious lunch for some of the 1,700 students Monday. The district changed their lunch plan to just one hour, instead of three shifts of 30 minutes each.

The idea was to give students more time for lunch, and the ability to attend extracurricular activities as well at study during the break. But one of the problems faced Monday was filing 1,700 students through a cafeteria that holds 700.

The school did add more variety to the lunch menu to help ease some of the crowded lines. School officials say they will stick to the plan as long as it works.
