School bus accident sends 9 students to local hospitals
SHERMAN, TX—Nine fifth and sixth grade students from Dillingham Intermediate School were transported to two local hospitals after an accident involving a school bus and pickup truck Monday morning.

SHERMAN, TX—Nine fifth and sixth grade students from Dillingham Intermediate School were transported to two local hospitals after an accident involving a school bus and pickup truck Monday morning.

Four students were transported to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ and five were taken to TMC with minor injuries. Police say this is an accident where it appears the school bus driver failed to yield at a red light. Police say the pickup had the right of way.

The accident occurred at 7:20 a.m. Monday morning at the intersection of Houston and Rusk streets in Sherman. According to police the Sherman ISD school bus was traveling south on Rusk Street and a Dodge pickup was traveling west on Houston Street when the two collided.

Forty-six people were on board the school bus. Sherman ISD officials tell KXII that the other students on board were loaded onto another bus and taken to school.

No students are beleived to be seriously injured at this time.
