Construction at FM 691 & U.S. 75 completed
DENISON, TX - After nearly eight months, a busy intersection dividing Sherman and Denison is now complete. The Texas Department of Transportation says one of the main reasons behind the expansion of the FM 691 and U.S. Highway 75 intersection is the increased traffic from the new TMC hospital.

DENISON, TX - After nearly eight months, a busy intersection dividing Sherman and Denison is now complete.
The Texas Department of Transportation says one of the main reasons behind the expansion of the FM 691 and U.S. Highway 75 intersection is the increased traffic from the new TMC hospital.
The project to add two traffic lanes and stoplights to the frontage roads surrounding the hospital began in late September. It took nearly $3.4 million to complete the expansion, money TX-DOT says they received as part of the economic stimulus project.
Construction crews placed the last paint stripes on the road Thursday afternoon.
"With the winter weather that we had, it actually pushed the project about a month and a half beyond the schedule, but the contractor was working around the clock trying to meet the deadline," TX-DOT engineer Noel Paramanatham says.
Part of the construction included adding plants along the side of the road
to make the area more visually appealing.
