More Help Needed for Grayson Charity

8-19-04 - A Grayson County charity that help's kids is now in need of help itself. An anonymous donor offered $50,000 to Big Brothers/Big Sisters, but the offer came with some conditions.

The donor will give $1 for every $1 the charity raises – a matching grant that could generate up to $100,000. The money has to come from Grayson County donors and has to be spent here and they only have until the end of 2004 to raise the money.

Sponsors say there's a huge need for donations and volunteers. President and CEO of the North Texas division of the charity says the Grayson chapter is has waiting list of 50 children and not enough volunteers to meet the need. The added donations would improve their ability to get the word out for more help. If you'd like to help call 1-888-887-Bigs.
