Funeral for Murdered Deacon Today

8-24-04 – The funeral for a well-known Konowa butcher and Church Deacon will be held Tuesday afternoon. Sixty one year old Silas Price Junior was shot twice in the head Thursday afternoon at his home during a lunch break from work.

Price had worked as a butcher at Streetman’s Supermarket for more than 40 years. He was also a Deacon at The Landmark Baptist Church in Konowa.

The suspect in the murder, Sonny Collinsworth is being held in a Seminole County jail. A judge has denied bail for the 19 year old.

Authorities say Collinsworth's stepfather was Price's foster son.
