SHERMAN, TX - Students in Sherman are learning about history in a different way this week, as they celebrate Western Days, with some of the students at Dillingham Intermediate sporting cowboy hats as the school celebrates the history and heritage of America.
Members of the Sons of the Confederacy volunteered to demonstrate the ways of the old days. Kids learned about eras that cover the War of 1812 all the way to through the Civil War. Teachers say while it is fun to get away from the usual curriculum, students also learn a lot about history.
Western Days run through Friday at Dillingham.
