Lightning strike suspected in Pottsboro house fire
POTTSBORO, TX - A house in Pottsboro caught fire Wednesday afternoon after officials say they believe it was struck by lightning. The Denison Fire Department says it happened around 3:30 in the 1000 block of Addison Avenue in Pottsboro.

POTTSBORO, TX - A house in Pottsboro caught fire Wednesday afternoon after officials say they believe it was struck by lightning. The Denison Fire Department says it happened around 3:30 in the 1000 block of Addison Avenue in Pottsboro.
Firefighters say when they arrived the entire attic was engulfed in flames. Crews were able to get that fire under control in about an hour, but the house was significantly damaged.
Denison Assistant Fire Chief Bill Ray says the large single story home appears to be a total loss. The owner was not home at the time the blaze broke out, but has since arrived on scene.
No one was injured in the fire. Pottsboro, Denison, Preston, and the Locust Fire Departments responded.
