Groundbreaking for Southmayd elementary addition
SOUTHMAYD, TX-- S & S elementary students celebrated the groundbreaking of a new addition to their school, Thursday afternoon.

SOUTHMAYD, TX-- S & S elementary students celebrated the groundbreaking of a new addition to their school, Thursday afternoon.
Around 14,000 square feet will be added to the elementary over the summer.
Construction crews hope to complete the project when students return next fall.
10 classrooms, a science lab and a computer lab are all in the works.
The project is part of a $2.7 million construction bond passed last November.
"We've got a book that the inside contents is absolutely fabulous and we want to model that for our parents and our town that when they drive onto this or towards this campus, its something they can be proud of," Superintendent, Robert Steeber, said.
Around 350 students attend S & S elementary in Southmayd.
