DENISON, TX--The relocation of Texoma Medical Center also meant one other building would have to move across town.
A place where families can stay, as their loved ones are treated at the hospital.
Reba's Ranch House isn't quite finished, but volunteers and donors who helped fund the project got a sneak peak Saturday at a special ribbon cutting ceremony for the new state of the art and expanded facility.
The heat didn't deter dozens of guests, from attending the celebration, where Reba McEntire acknowledged the hundreds of volunteer hours, put into her second ranch house.
Memorial Day weekend was chosen specifically for the event, to recognize the new house and to reflect on the healing that came with the old one.
In 1992, the first house opened near the old Texoma Medical Center for families to stay for reduced rates, as their loved ones received medical treatment just steps away.
Money from the Texoma Health Foundation and funds from special benefit concerts supported the new 15,000 square foot facility.
"When you're faced with in many cases, life threatening illnesses, by a family member, than to be close by, that helps with the healing process," Texoma Health Foundation member, Sam Graber, said.
The official opening of the new building is planned for early to mid-June.
It features twelve rooms, four more than the first house.
