ARDMORE, OK - The president of the American Iron Riders was killed in an accident Monday morning in Ardmore. Now friends and fellow bikers share their memories of Matthew Morgan. Shelby Levins reports.

Friends and fellow motorcyclists say Matt Morgan was full of life, and never met a stranger.

"About as happy of a person you'd ever want to meet," Bob Lee explained.

"He liked everyone. He looked out for everyone," Tom Atkins said.

Morgan was the president of the American Iron Riders - a group of bikers dedicated to raising money for children in need.

"Matt was a motivator. He'd get something in his mind and he's going to make it happen whatever it takes," Atkins, the group's Sergeant at Arms, explained.

But friends like Atkins and Lee say motorcycles weren't just a passion for Morgan, they were a guiding force in his life.

"His first Harley he got he called 'Sal' - the reason he called it 'Sal' was for salvation because it saved his life," Lee, the Vice President of the American Iron Riders, said.

But Morgan's life ended tragically Monday afternoon, when he was killed in an accident.

Police say he was riding his Harley East on Highway 70, when he slammed into the back of a pickup at the Michelin Road intersection. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Matt died doing what he wanted to do - he was riding that's the way he would have wanted it," Lee said.

"What we call our fallen brother and sisters - he became one of them," Atkins said.

Both men say Morgan was headed to Denison to promote their upcoming Memorial Rally - an event to honor fallen riders, and raise money for kids in need.

"The club lost a very good leader and friend. And I personally lost a brother," Lee said.

The club plans to still hold their Memorial Rally this weekend, but now they'll be honoring one more fallen brother.

Emergency responders say the driver of the pickup hit was not hurt.

Ardmore Police say the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
