Another Rollover Raises Road Concerns

Video will be available shortly.

8-25-04 - A flat bed truck hauling an 800-gallon water tank rolled over on County Line Road south of Ardmore Tuesday, raising concerns that the stretch of road is a hazard.

State troopers say the water tank shifted as the truck took a corner too fast, causing today’s accident. But it’s the fifth rollover along the one-mile section of road this year alone.

Truck drivers frequent the road, which goes past a rock quarry plant and sees plenty of heavy traffic. They complain of sharp turns and a narrow road, on top of overgrown foliage blocking their vision of the road ahead.

But troopers say the cause of all the accidents is speeding – that truckers just need to slow down.
