Man sentenced to 60 years for raping girl in Cooke Co.
GAINESVILLE, TX - A Cooke County judge hands down a 60-year sentence for a man convicted of raping of a 12 year old girl.

GAINESVILLE, TX - A Cooke County judge hands down a 60-year sentence for a man convicted of raping of a 12 year old girl.
Jackson Jefferson "Jeff" Jarvis III initially plead not guilty to the sexual assault of a child that took place in September 2009, but Cooke County District Attorney Janice Warder says they were shocked when just days before his trial Jarvis came in and plead guilty She believes he changed his plea because of the DNA evidence and the fact that the girl was going to testify against him.
Warder says it wasn't a plea bargain, but a punishment hearing earlier this week. The judge sentenced Jarvis to 60 years in prison.
