Five vehicle accident in Sherman
SHERMAN, TX -- A five car accident sent two people to the hospital and closed down both directions of Loy Lake Road in Sherman Friday evening.

SHERMAN, TX -- A five car accident sent two people to the hospital and closed down both directions of Loy Lake Road in Sherman Friday evening.
Around 5:30, a string of vehicles were stopped at a light headed north on Loy Lake, when authorities say the driver of a pick-up missed his brake pedal and slammed into a silver Ford Mustang.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver and passenger in the Mustang.
Both were taken to TMC with serious injuries. Three other vehicles ahead of that Mustang were pushed forward in the chain reaction crash, and several passengers reported minor injuries.
Both lanes of Loy Lake were re-opened after crews worked to absorb vehicle fluid that covered portions of the roadway.
One passenger was visibly shaken after the accident.
"It's all very scary. You know you don't know how scary it is until it hits you so hard, and you're not expecting it. And its just....what's going on?" said passenger, Sandra Hodson.
Authorities say the driver of the pick-up that started the accident will not receive a citation.
