Semi Catches Fire in Wreck

8-27-04 – A semi truck burst into flames late Thursday night, shutting down highway 69 for three hours. The driver escaped unharmed after his semi hit debris on the road and crashed 10 miles north of Stringtown in Atoka County.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating why the truck burst into flames. Troopers were forced to shut down the highway at around 10:30pm. The truck was carrying a load of chickens, it took crews nearly three house to clean up the mess.
