ARDMORE, OK - An Ardmore police officer injured in an off-duty motorcycle accident in early May is now receiving some help from members of the community and a famous rock musician. Dara Downs has more.

Corporal Chad Anthony has been unable to work for the past two months due to injuries he sustained during the crash, and with medical bills piling up rock star Ted Nugent, along with Two Frogs Entertainment, are holding a benefit concert to help raise money for one of Ardmore's finest.

Corporal Chad Anthony was badly injured in a motorcycle crash in Texas in May. Captain Eric Hamblin says Anthony has almost exhausted all of his paid leave, and still has a long road of recovery ahead.

"He had two medical flights. He was flown twice. He's had multiple surgeries, and he's got more surgeries. He was in the hospital for several days, he's got rehab, I mean it's mounting up," Hamblin says.

Two Frogs owner Aubrey Harris says the date for the Ted Nugent concert had already been set. When Harris came up with the idea to fundraiser as part of the concert, Harris says he knew Anthony was a big Nugent fan, and had even served as security at a previous concert in Ardmore, so he knew it would be the perfect match.

"It just made sense. I do a charity thing on every show, so the more I started thinking the more that I starting saying, 'Hey we should do something for Chad."

Harris says when he contacted Ted Nugent's representatives. They gladly agreed to help by donating meet and greet tickets to raffle off, as well as a signed guitar to auction off the night of the concert. Local supporter Mark Jackson from the J Bar Ranch also agreed to donate 26 VIP tickets for the Fraternal Order of Police to sell in support of Anthony.

"Everybody's together, you know, it's an easy way to get people to look up and say hey this is our chance to help out, and even if its five or ten dollars to donate for a chance to win something, you know it's all going to Chad."

Captain Hamblin says the generosity of Ted Nugent and members of the community is more than the police department could have ever expected and hopes more people will come to show their support for one of their own.

"He's an FTO and a corporal. We rely on him a lot, and he's a good officer, and I think the community should be proud of the kind of officer he is and want to support him as well. And we'll do whatever have to for Chad. He's one of us."

To purchase VIP tickets, you can contact Captain Eric Hamblin with the Ardmore Police Department at 580-319-1160 or at the Ardmore Police Department at 580-221-2520.

For chances to win meet and greet tickets, chances on the Ted Nugent autographed guitar, or general admissions tickets, stop by or contact Two Frogs grill at 580-226-3764. You can also purchase tickets at www.ticketstorm.com.

The concert will be held on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Hall in Ardmore.
